Here's the big Texas Holdem Secret...
When learning how to play Texas Holdem you have to figure out what style works best for you. Some players are very aggressive and others are very tight. After playing Texas Holdem for a while, you'll figure out what style of game suits you, then go out and learn all the other ways to play.
To succeed in Texas Holdem, you have to take a multi faceted approach and be able to switch gears in an instant and recognize when your opponent is doing the same. You never want to become predictable.
Whatever your style, learn to protect your chips, and build your stack without opening yourself up, especially in No Limit Texas Holdem events. The more chances you take, the more chances you have of getting wiped out. Learn to survive and move on... that's the key to play winning texas holdem over the long haul.
Success playing Texas Holdem is not defined in any one night but over the long haul...you may be unlucky for a day or two (or three:) but stay patient, keep a cool head and become a consistently winning texas holdem player in the long run. There's the big secret out of the bag:)
