What makes an MGC wooden jigsaw puzzle so special? Well...
My unique
wooden puzzles are all hand cut piece by piece with patience,
time and concentration in order to craft you the finest quality
wooden jigsaw puzzle, capable of thrilling avid enthusiasts and
collectors of hardwood jigsaw puzzles worldwide.
I make
my puzzles using one of 4 different
cut styles, with piece counts ranging from as few as 8 pieces
to as many as 8,000 or more pieces per puzzle. A single large
jigsaw puzzle can take me 3 to 10 days to carefully hand cut.
I pride
myself on my unique ability to cut my puzzle pieces to conform
to the image you have chosen. For example, I will rarely cut through
important features in a picture such as faces of people, animals,
small objects or through the lettering of legible words. Instead,
I carefully develop my cuts to encompass these objects, as well
as thread cuts around and between the letters of words, when possible,
in order to preserve their integrity and readability once the
puzzle is assembled.

Because
my puzzles are made from the finest quality Birch wood, and use
professional image mounting techniques, they will last for many
years. They are a true family keepsake and heirlooms, to be enjoyed
again and again, being passed down to the future generations of
your family.
The
most unique feature about my puzzles is that I want you
to make all the decisions regarding how you want me to make you
your very special wooden jigsaw puzzle. For starters, I
let you select the image that is used for the puzzle, whether
that be an enlarged personal photo of your own, an art
print poster that you purchased at a local art store, or your
company logo. You may also select any image that you can find
in my online art gallery
of wonderful art prints! Pretty much any image is suitable for
your personalized jigsaw puzzle, as long as it is an image that
you like, and that it has meaning to you, or ther person you are
giving the puzzle to.
Not
only do you choose your image, but I also ask you to choose which
special figure shape pieces you
wish me to cut into your puzzle. These pieces can either represent
objects like birds, tools, animals (see picture to left) etc...,
as well as puzzle pieces cut to spell out names and dates. (Names
and dates are great for wedding
and anniversary puzzles)
Finally,
you get to choose the cut style
used to create your puzzle, depending on which style most
appeals to you, or on the difficulty level you are looking for
in your unique custom wooden jigsaw puzzle. I can even apply an
irregular
border to your puzzle to increase it's difficulty. Straight
edge puzzles are nice, but tend to be a bit easier to solve since
most puzzlers assemble the edge first and then work their way
inward. (I do have tricks that can counter this however) The Irregular
edge feature greatly reduces the solvers ability to know what
puzzle pieces are edge pieces.
Once
you have given me the formula for your puzzle, I will add some
of my own special tricks to it, in order to stump the solver(s),
and give it some additional character and flavor. Some of my trick
cuts have taken people many hours to solve.
Since
October of 1997, I have hand signed, individually numbered and
date every puzzle of consequence that I have ever cut. This signature
is usually located on the back of my signature piece which I put
in pretty much any custom wooden puzzle with at least 150 pieces.
In puzzles with fewer than 150 peices, I usually do not cut my
signature piece, but rather, I will sign the back of a few random
puzzle pieces. As of January 23, 2004, I was up to puzzle number
2,154.
A few
weeks, or a few days if you placed a RUSH order, after you place
your order, the FedEx truck will drive to your home or office
to hand deliver your family's new treasured keepsake. You will
be hard pressed to immediately open the box and admire the individual
puzzle pieces with their aesthetically pleasing shapes and contours.
The temptation to start solving is usually an immediate one. Good
