Leif Nilsson, exhibits his paintings and drawings of Chester, the Connecticut River Valley as well as his travels to interesting European Villages in his own studio/gallery. Come visit leiif on weekends from noon - 6 pm and other times by chance or appointment.

They may not always be around during the week because they often go out painting on the river or at the shore together. Most afternoons Leif can be found painting out doors in front of his studio (left on photo). In the evening he is at the Pattaconk 1850, drinking his favorite micro-brew while pondering over a wooden jigsaw puzzle of one of his own paintings!

Welcome to one of Connecticut's warmest and most beautiful bed & breakfasts. One Twenty-Three Main is a Victorian charmer. Its sweeping veranda overlooks downtown Chester, a little town in the lush Connecticut River valley that is reminiscent of an English village, but exudes All-American chic.

One Twenty-Three Main offers five rooms, three with private baths.

Built in 1866 as the South District School, it became an inn and saloon around the turn of
the century, and in the 20's was a residence and bakery. Recently restored and refinished, right down to the shiny pine floors, the appointments are new, but uniquely designed to fit
the Victorian style of the house. Every room has a ceiling fan, a Victorian footstool, and personal touches such as Chris's hand-crocheted curtains.
